第二段中，先舉二數，內外列名，隨事作用名之為外、依理發通說之為內。下辯其相，明其「外者與外道共」，不說以為昔所未得。內中有於大小之別，大與小異是故名為昔所未得，辯外可知。內中初先牒以舉數，次列二名，下顯不同，「菩薩所得不與聲聞、辟支佛共」略顯不同。下廣顯之，先問次辯，「二乘神通一心一作，不得眾多」明小異大。「菩薩不」下彰大異小，先辯後釋，以得涅槃之勢力故，「是則」下結。

In the second passage, it first adduces the two categories, listing the names of internal and external: operating in accordance with worldly matters is called external; giving rise to supernatural powers relying on principle is called internal. Below, its characteristics are discriminated, clarifying that "the external ones are shared with non-Buddhists" and are not spoken of as not yet attained in the past. Within the internal, there is the distinction between great and small; the great differs from the small, and therefore it is called not yet attained in the past; the discrimination of the external can be known [from this]. Within the internal, it first cites them to state the number, next lists the two names, and below displays their difference: "What is attained by the bodhisattva is not shared with śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas" briefly displays their difference. Below, it displays it extensively: first a question, next a discrimination. "The supernatural powers of the two vehicles operate one by one with a single mind and cannot be manifold" clarifies that the small differs from the great. From "The bodhisattva does not..." onward, it displays that the great differs from the small, first discriminating and then explaining, because they have obtained the power and momentum of nirvāṇa. From "This is..." onward concludes it.
