下明法體定、不定中，先明不定，「亦可定」下明其定義。明不定中，初辯後結。辯中四句：一正明涅槃體非聲果，性出自古，不依言教，方便修生故非聲果。

Below, in clarifying whether the essence of dharma is definite or indefinite, it first clarifies the indefinite; from "It may also be definite..." onward clarifies its definite meaning. In clarifying the indefinite, it first discriminates and then concludes. Within the discrimination there are four phrases: first, properly clarifying that the essence of nirvāṇa is not a fruit of sound; its nature has existed from antiquity, not relying on verbal teachings, and is generated through the cultivation of expedient means, hence it is not a fruit of sound.
