自下第二瑠璃自前問生不生令佛解釋，使彼新來菩薩解知。「其到不到」下答德王。初問之中，佛自廣釋，今此不論。文中有四：一問、二答、三難、四通。「世尊！云何不生生」者是初問也，向前四句理應齊問，就始言耳。

From here below is the second part: Vaiḍūryaprabha brings forward the question on arising and non-arising, asking the Buddha to explain it so that those newly arrived bodhisattvas may understand and know it. From "as for arriving and not arriving" downward answers the King of Virtuous Brightness. In the initial question, the Buddha himself expounds extensively, which is not discussed here. In the text there are four parts: first, question; second, answer; third, objection; fourth, resolution. "World-Honoured One! What is meant by non-arising arising?" is the initial question. The previous four clauses ought in principle to have been asked together, but he merely speaks according to the beginning.
