In explaining the possession of the fruit, there are distinctly six clauses: First, explaining that this is not impure: "If a world were filled with impurity, that a Buddha should appear within it is impossible" directly makes clear that it is not impure; "do not think..." admonishes one to abandon thoughts of impurity. Second, from "you should know" onward, it explains that he possesses further pure lands in other regions; the words "I have not left the realm of Jambudvīpa" explain that he possesses more. Third, from "just as a person" onward, it illustrates the first clause above to show that this is not impure, first giving the analogy and then the application. In the analogy, it hypothetically adduces a foolish person to speak: the "sun and moon" illustrate purity; if someone should declare, "The sun and moon exist here, but do not exist in other regions," there would be no principle in this; if someone should declare, "Purity exists in other regions, but does not exist in this realm," there would likewise be no principle in this; this compares the sun and moon to other regions possessing purity. Reading it at first glance may confuse one, but it can be understood according to the principle. Fourth, from "the western direction" onward, it illustrates the second [clause] above, explaining that he possesses further pure lands in other regions. Fifth, from "for the sake of transforming sentient beings, therefore here" onward, it explains that the impurity of Jambudvīpa is for the sake of transforming sentient beings, and all buddhas share this together. Sixth, from "Maitreya" onward, it explains the purity of Jambudvīpa, where all buddhas dwell together.
