前正辯空，下舉涅槃類以顯之，於中有五：一正舉涅槃為類前空；二「涅槃即」下簡有異空；三「涅槃雖」下因明涅槃常樂我淨，乘彰涅槃寂樂非受；四「諸佛」下因明涅槃寂滅之樂，乘明佛等樂相差別；五「德王白」下於前義中有難解者，問答重顯。

The preceding correctly explains emptiness; below, nirvāṇa is cited to illustrate it by comparison. Herein there are five [points]: first, directly citing nirvāṇa to compare with the preceding emptiness; second, from "Nirvāṇa is precisely" onward, distinguishing existence to differentiate it from emptiness; third, from "Although nirvāṇa is bliss" onward, using this opportunity to clarify that nirvāṇa is constancy, bliss, self, and purity, and thereby showing that the bliss of nirvāṇa is quiescent bliss, not sensation; fourth, from "The buddhas" onward, using this opportunity to clarify the bliss of the quiescence and cessation of nirvāṇa, and thereby explaining the distinctions in the characteristics of bliss among buddhas and others; fifth, from "King of Virtuous Power said to the Buddha" onward, using questions and answers to clarify again what was difficult to understand in the preceding meanings.
