前中初言「有漏之法若有生者」就前有漏牒舉生相，此乃舉彼法外生相非法體生，欲就設難，所以舉之，「為常、無常」進退審定。

Among the former [two], the opening statement, "If contaminated dharmas have arising..." takes up the mark of arising based on the preceding contaminated [dharmas]. This cites that mark of arising apart from the dharma and not the arising of the dharma's own substance; wishing to pose an objection on its basis, he therefore cites it, examining and determining whether it is "permanent or impermanent" by advancing and retreating.
