The final two form a pair differentiating with regard to both persons and dharmas: 'Though the experiencer perishes, the fruit does not decay and disappear'—differentiating with regard to persons: though the experiencing person perishes, the fruit obtained does not perish. 'There is no cognitive knowing; knowing comes to be through combination'—differentiating with regard to dharmas: when the three factors of sense faculty, sense object, and consciousness are analyzed separately, cognitive knowing cannot be found; hence it is called 'no cognitive knowing.' When these three combine, cognitive knowing arises; hence it is called 'coming to be through combination.' Furthermore, when a single moment of mind is analyzed according to its four characteristics, cognitive knowing cannot be found; this is also called 'no knowing.' When prior and subsequent combine, cognitive knowing is nominally designated as arising; this is called 'coming to be through combination.'
