Below, it again uses questions and answers to reveal the meaning of being without a cause. Siṃha first challenges: "As the Buddha has said, that nirvāṇa is without a cause is an incorrect meaning," negating and refuting it so as to eliminate it. Below, he reiterates the Buddha's teaching and deduces that among the six kinds of non-existence, it is a temporal non-existence of cause, not an absolute non-existence. "If one says it is non-existent, it then conforms to the six non-existences" reiterates it to deduce generally. Next, he explains the six non-existences; in all cases, the names are first listed, and the subsequent explanation can be known. From "nirvāṇa also" onward, he specifically explains that nirvāṇa conforms to temporal non-existence among those six.
