From here below is the third [clause], citing the later to analogize to the former, accomplishing the previous meaning of nonexistence. First, he cites the later curd to analogize to the former milk. 'At the time of curd there is no milk, butter, up to ghee' personally clarifies that at the time of curd there are no other tastes. At the time of curd there is no milk: within the fruit there is no cause; there is no fresh butter and the like: within the cause there is no fruit. 'Sentient beings also call it neither milk nor butter...' and so forth cites others to prove nonexistence. Since at the time of curd there are no other tastes whatsoever, milk is also like this; how could it have curd or even ghee? 'Is also like this' shows that the subsequent fresh butter up to ghee likewise have no other tastes.
