自下第三明從生陰起於繫縛，四句辯之。一明生時根具不具，為依具根集起煩惱，所以論之。二明依根發生煩惱，生愛生癡及生倒見。三明煩惱發生諸業，業生煩惱。四結成縛義，「是名繫縛」結成子縛，「以是義故名五陰生」結成果縛。

Next below is the third, explaining the arising of bondage from the aggregates of birth, discussed in four clauses: First, explaining whether the sense faculties are complete or incomplete at the time of birth; this is discussed because afflictions are gathered and arisen based on complete faculties. Second, explaining that based on the faculties, afflictions arise: producing attachment, producing delusion, and producing inverted views. Third, explaining that afflictions give rise to various karmas, and karma gives rise to afflictions. Fourth, concluding the meaning of bondage: "this is named fetter" concludes the fetter of causes (defilements); "for this reason it is named the arising of the five aggregates" concludes the fetter of fruits (aggregates).
