8.70

上來廣明法性自空，翻答後難；下明菩薩修空見空，翻答前難。由凡計有故須菩薩修空見空，文別有四：一明凡夫見有所由，由見諸法續相似相。

The above has extensively clarified that the nature of dharmas is inherently empty, turning to answer the latter challenge; below, it clarifies that the bodhisattva cultivates emptiness and sees emptiness, turning to answer the former challenge. Because ordinary people conceptualize existence, it is necessary for the bodhisattva to cultivate emptiness and see emptiness. The text has four distinct parts: 1. clarifying the source of ordinary people seeing existence—due to seeing the continuous and similar marks of dharmas.
