8.77

前中，德王復作是言「若鹽能令非醎作醎」牒舉前喻，「修空三昧若如是者」牒舉前合，後徵顯過，「當知是定非善、非妙，性是顛倒」，是乖法理所以非善，定不稱法故曰非妙，觀有作空故生顛倒。就後難中，「若空三昧唯見空者」牒上菩薩修空見空。下就設難，「空是無法，為何所見」。

In the former, the King of Virtuous Qualities again spoke these words: "If salt can cause what is not salty to become salty" takes up the preceding analogy; "if cultivating the samādhi of emptiness is like this" takes up the preceding correspondence; afterward, he queries and reveals the fault: "One should know this samādhi is not good and not wonderful; its nature is inverted." It goes against the principle of dharmas, so it is not good; the samādhi does not accord with dharmas, hence it is said to be not wonderful; contemplating existence to make it empty, it therefore generates inversion. In the latter challenge, "If the samādhi of emptiness only sees emptiness" takes up the bodhisattva cultivating emptiness and seeing emptiness above. Below, he poses the challenge: "Emptiness is a nonexistent dharma; what is seen?"
