In the detailed part, it first presents the defense of the heterodox party, next negates it as not so, and from "Why is this?" onwards refutes it in detail in accordance with the defense. In the former part, it uses the salt analogy as the dharma; within it, first is the dharma, next is the analogy, and afterwards is the application. In the dharma: "If it is said that all non-salty things possess the nature of saltiness, but because it is subtle it is not known, and due to this subtle nature salt can make them salty" directly establishes the proposition of existence. From "if originally nonexistent" onwards, it refutes nonexistence to establish existence. In the analogy: "a seed naturally has the four great elements" is an analogy for non-salty things previously having the nature of saltiness; "increasing through external conditions" is an analogy for salt making things salty. The application of the analogy can be understood.
