就下人中，初先法說，明不假修；「若闡提等不得菩提應須修道」，反明不假；「以因性」下，順明不假。「磁石」喻顯，下合可知。此等三人，下文別答，亦須記知。

Regarding inferior persons: First, the doctrine is stated, explaining that they do not rely on cultivation. "If icchantikas and the like do not attain bodhi, they should need to cultivate the path" inversely shows that they do not rely on it. From "Because the causal nature..." onward, it directly shows that they do not rely on it. This is illustrated through the analogy of the lodestone, followed by the application, as can be understood. The Buddha's text below responds separately to these three kinds of persons, which must also be noted.
