Next, explaining "having heard, one attains benefit" has three parts: the presentation, the explanation, and the conclusion. Presenting the benefit of realization, it is not the benefit of the wisdom of contemplation; the text says, "attains closeness to sambodhi." The wisdom of contemplation has not yet brought forth the real—how could it mean "closeness"? Next, the explanation has two parts: first, brief; second, extensive. In the brief, there are again two parts: first, raising the causal conditions, hence it says "listening and accepting"; next, revealing that true realization is the three wisdoms in one mind, illustrating it by raising three parables: true wisdom illuminating principle is like the inside of a mirror being clear; provisional wisdom illuminating affairs is like a torch making external objects distinct; the middle wisdom illuminating all-round is like the sun brightly shining everywhere. Explaining it in three turns is to make it easy for people to understand; at the time of realization, one simultaneously obtains the three wisdoms in one mind. Second, from "if there is a bodhisattva" onward is the extensive explanation of the benefits, which also has two parts: first, narrating the causal conditions; next, going through the four dharmas. Clarifying the benefits is as in the text. Not hearing from another is the benefit of true realization, and being able to know for oneself closeness to sambodhi makes it clear that this is not the wisdom of contemplation. Third, the conclusion is as in the text.
