「迦葉菩薩言根本因增」下，第五料簡，先問、次答。答有五復次。初復次云根者，初發可解。因者即是相似，是即初後兩心相續不斷。增者滅相似得相似者，即滅前相似心，更復得後相似之心。而但簡三法，其中有三道之說，見道即見諦道；修道即思惟道，唯除羅漢果；無學即羅漢。

From "Bodhisattva Kāśyapa said: 'Root, cause, increase...'" onward, the fifth [section] is the detailed examination, which first asks and then answers. The answer has five "Furthermore"s. The first "Furthermore" states that the root refers to the initial generation [of the mind], which is easy to understand. The cause is similarity; that is, the two minds, initial and subsequent, continue without interruption. The increase is "extinguishing similarity to obtain similarity"; that is, one extinguishes the preceding similar mind and further obtains the subsequent similar mind. However, [this section] only examines three dharmas; within it there is the explanation of the three paths: the path of seeing is the path of seeing the truths; the path of cultivation is the path of reflection, excluding only the fruit of an arhat; and [the path of] non-learning is the arhat.
