32.14

「外道眾中復有姓迦葉」下，第四外道，文為三：初緣起、次論義、後歸伏。此初三問皆默以為緣起，是故不答，如來欲令彼出己義。

From "Among the assembly of non-Buddhists there was also one surnamed Kāśyapa..." downward is the fourth non-Buddhist. The text has three parts: first the origin, second the debate on doctrines, and third the submission. Here the first three questions all met with silence as the origin, which is why he did not answer; the Tathāgata wished to have him put forward his own doctrine.
