前明經宗，通明一經之宗。今明體，涅槃一法體也。即為四：初、就一法明體，次、二法明體，三、三法明體，四、就四法明體。

The previous explanation of the central tenet of the sūtra generally explained the central tenet of the entire sūtra. Now, in explaining the essence, it is the essence of the single dharma of nirvāṇa. This comprises four parts: first, explaining the essence in terms of one dharma; second, explaining the essence in terms of two dharmas; third, explaining the essence in terms of three dharmas; and fourth, explaining the essence in terms of four dharmas.
