1.79

一常故大。所言大者，名之為常。然無常二得名大，而終不及常。大薪大火。大薪不及火，常無常亦爾也。

First, it is great because it is permanent. That which is called great is termed permanent. Now, impermanence can also obtain the name “great,” yet in the end it does not equal permanence. [Just as with] great firewood and a great fire: great firewood does not equal the fire; permanence and impermanence are likewise.
