二者、涅槃處。處即於本國本村，父名波婆利，本生之處。釋迦佛於迦維羅衛國生，於俱尸那國入滅，表此化緣畢，餘方教化。《處胎經》第二說「我身今滅，不復更生於閻浮提。於十方面三十二姟諸佛剎中遍施佛事。」此緣盡故、彼不盡故。慈氏本生處入滅者，此緣未盡，表於此滅、後於此生，行利他故。

Second, the place of nirvāṇa. The place is in his native country, in his native village, where his father was named Bāvari, his place of original birth. Śākyamuni Buddha was born in the country of Kapilavastu and entered cessation in the country of Kuśinagara, symbolizing that his conditions for transformation here were finished, and he would teach and transform in other directions. The Garbhāvakrānti-sūtra, fascicle two, says: 'My body now ceases, and will not take birth again in Jambudvīpa. In the ten directions throughout thirty-two koṭis of buddha-kṣetras I shall perform buddha-work everywhere.' Because these conditions here were exhausted, whereas those were not exhausted. Maitreya entering cessation at his place of original birth is because these conditions are not yet exhausted, symbolizing that he ceases here and will later be born here to practice benefiting others.
