贊曰：自下第二答生彼天。於中有六：一生處、二生相、三身量莊嚴、四異聖神變、五相好光明、六說法利益。此即初也。七寶臺者，七財飾故，即法堂也。師子座者，於彼臺中法王位極，得無畏故。忽然化生者，四生中最勝故。自餘諸天，於父膝上忽然化生。彌勒乃於師子座生，凡聖異故、欲顯菩薩離欲生故。

The commentary states: From here on is the second [section], which answers about his birth in that heaven. In this there are six parts: first, the place of birth; second, the marks of birth; third, his bodily dimensions and adornments; fourth, the supernatural transformations of the various noble ones; fifth, the marks, minor characteristics, and radiance; sixth, the benefits of expounding the Dharma. This is the first of these. As for 'the terrace of seven jewels', because it is adorned with the seven treasures, it is the Dharma hall. As for 'the lion throne', because within that terrace the rank of Dharma King is supreme, he attains fearlessness. As for 'was suddenly born by transformation', this is because [birth by transformation] is the most supreme among the four modes of birth. As for the rest of the devas, they are suddenly born by transformation upon the knees of their fathers. Maitreya was born on a lion throne because the ordinary and the noble are distinct, and to show that the Bodhisattva took birth free from desire.
