贊曰：第二、生相。蓮華上者，於師子座上更有蓮花。一切佛座淨土等中皆坐蓮花，表出生死之淤泥，秀二乘之濁水故。結跏趺坐者，如盤龍居，以左押右降伏而坐，以右押左吉祥而坐，既將說法顯作吉祥。身色如金，表可寶重。

The commentary states: The second is the marks of birth. As for 'upon a lotus flower', on top of the lion throne there was also a lotus flower. On all the thrones of the Buddhas, in pure lands and the like, they invariably sit upon lotus flowers, indicating emergence from the mire of saṃsāra and standing tall above the turbid water of the two vehicles. As for 'sat cross-legged', like a coiled dragon resting, sitting with the left pressing the right is the subduing posture; sitting with the right pressing the left is the auspicious posture. Since he was about to expound the Dharma, he showed the auspicious posture. His body color was like gold, indicating that it is worthy of treasure and esteem.
