The commentary says: Below explains the fulfillment of the vow. Within this there are five parts: first, explaining the creation of the palace; second, from 'Then in the gardens' below, the creation of the gardens; third, from 'There was also a great lion throne of the seven jewels' below, the creation of the throne; fourth, from 'Then at the four corners of the palace were four jewel pillars' below, the creation of the pillars; fifth, from 'Such heavenly palaces had millions of billions of immeasurable jewel colours' below, the jewel colours of the heavenly palaces and heavenly maidens are all identical. In the creation of the palace there are eight points: first, explaining the creation of the palace; second, the balustrades; third, the devaputras and devakanyās; fourth, flowers produced from hands; fifth, the light; sixth, the musical instruments; seventh, the dancing; eighth, the expounding of the Dharma. Within creating the palace halls there are two: first, the emergence of the jewel; second, the creation of the palace. This is the first. Vaidūrya is greenish-blue in colour, and crystal is red in colour. That all kinds of colours are fully complete means that among the jewels from the forehead, greenish-blue and red are cited first, and all the rest of the numerous colours are completely present; or else, these two jewels completely possess all varieties of colour. 'Zi' means purple colour. As for 'gan', the Shuowen says, 'Silk of deep blue with an exposed reddish tint contains gan,' that is, blue containing a reddish tint. Here this gan is slightly different from that: it is like a purple-blue wish-fulfilling divine pearl, thoroughly luminous inside and out.
