The commentary says: Inwardly cultivating the aggregate of the knowledge and vision of liberation, one outwardly evokes the great deity named Śuddhasvara, because wisdom accords with correct principle, like pure sound. That diverse waters come forth is because the water of wisdom moistens and ferries across the sprout of correct awakening; that there are fifty billion flowers is because they adorn the manifold virtues. That there are twenty-five jade maidens is because they benefit and generate all the wholesome roots of the twenty-five states of existence. That these jade maidens produce various sounds is because all sentient beings in the twenty-five states of existence take refuge and mindful recollection. Because the transmundane sounds are beautiful, wondrous, and delightful, they surpass all the music of the Queen of the Heavenly Māra. Alternatively, the five great deities are evoked by ordinary beings upholding the five precepts, and are also summoned by the five supernatural faculties: divine powers, knowledge of others' minds, recollection of past lives, divine eye, and divine ear, which are manifested respectively in that order.
