第四時差別者，《莊嚴論》云「時差別有二：一有數時記、二無數時記。」解云：前菩薩記中，初二為無數時，以行淺故；後二有數時，以行深故。若四劫中間增上及定性為無數時，以但通記故；應化及退菩提為有數時也。

Fourth, regarding the distinctions of time, the Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra states: 'The distinctions of time are twofold: first, vyākaraṇa of a counted time; second, vyākaraṇa of an uncounted time.' An explanation says: Among the vyākaraṇas of the bodhisattvas mentioned above, the first two are of uncounted time because their practice is shallow; the latter two are of counted time because their practice is deep. If among the four kalpas the intermediate augmented and the determined nature are of uncounted time, it is because they are merely general vyākaraṇas; response-manifestations and those who retrogress from bodhi are of counted time.
