問：好說中天身名一生者，何故《智度論》三十八云「三生菩薩唯生兜率」？答：云三生者，以最後生逆數故，謂一最後生、二天生、三人生，此後人生，若死已定生兜率故。

Question: If, according to the preferable explanation, the heavenly body is called "one life," why does the thirty-eighth fascicle of the *Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa* say: "Bodhisattvas of three lives are born only in Tuṣita"? Answer: Calling it "three lives" is by counting backwards from the final life: namely, first, the final life; second, the heavenly life; and third, the human life—after this human life, upon dying, one is definitely born in Tuṣita.
