什曰：神，受善惡雜報，似人天而非人，天也。肇曰：神、受善惡雜報、見形勝人劣天，身輕微難見也。
[Kumāra]jīva says: Spirits receive a mixed retribution of good and evil; resembling humans and devas yet not human, they are devas.
[Seng]zhao says: Spirits receive a mixed retribution of good and evil; their visible form is superior to humans and inferior to devas, and their bodies are subtle and difficult to see.
