肇曰：佛以一音說一法，眾生各隨所好而受解，好施者聞施、好戒者聞戒，各異受異行獲其異利。上一音異適，此一法異適也。

[Seng]zhao says: The Buddha preaches a single Dharma with a single sound, and sentient beings each receive and understand it according to their inclinations. Those who delight in giving hear giving; those who delight in morality hear morality. Each receives differently, practices differently, and gains different benefits. The preceding was a single sound with different applications; this is a single Dharma with different applications.
