肇曰：阿耨多羅，秦言無上。三藐三菩提，秦言正遍知。道莫之大，無上也。其道真正無法不知，正遍知也。諸長者子久已發無上心而未修淨土，所以寶積俱詣，如來現蓋，皆啟其萌也。既於蓋中見諸佛淨土殊好不同，志在崇習，故願聞佛所得淨土殊好之事。

[Seng]zhao says: 'Anuttarā' in Qin means 'unexcelled'. 'Samyaksaṃbodhi' in Qin means 'correct and universal knowledge'. No Way is greater than it, hence 'unexcelled'. Its Way is correct and true with no phenomenon unknown, hence 'correct and universal knowledge'. These elders' sons had long since aroused the unexcelled mind but had not yet cultivated a pure land; therefore Ratnakūṭa accompanied them to come, and the Tathāgata manifested the canopy, both to sprout this [aspiration]. Having seen within the canopy the distinct and splendid differences among the pure lands of the various buddhas, their intent was to revere and practice them; therefore they wished to hear of the matters of the distinct and splendid pure lands attained by buddhas.
