[Seng]zhao says: If one can be equal in mind toward all sentient beings and deeply enter the Buddha's wisdom, then since the pure karma is identical, what one sees will not differ. / [Dao]sheng says: When it says 'the mind has highs and lows', it refers to his doubt based on rocks and sand, which is based on the superior and inferior among sentient beings. Furthermore, not relying on the Buddha's wisdom is the realm of response, which lies in the place of necessary awakening; therefore he sees only impurity. If one takes the principle of departing from evil, then the sentient beings of rocks and sand are no different from the people of the pure land. Moreover, one contemplates relying on the Buddha's wisdom, so wherever one turns, there is nothing that is not pure.
