肇曰：經者常也。古今雖殊，覺道不改，群邪不能沮、眾聖不能異，故曰常也。

[Seng]zhao says: 'Sūtra' means constant. Although past and present differ, the path of enlightenment does not change; all heterodoxies cannot overturn it, and all sages cannot alter it; therefore, it is called constant.
