什曰：若俗穢自纏乖於淨法，知非處穢之所弘道，故出家修淨以弘淨法矣。
[Kumāra]jīva says: Worldly defilement is self-entangling and contradicts the pure Dharma; knowing that remaining in defilement is not the place to propagate the Way, he went forth to cultivate purity in order to propagate the pure Dharma.
