什曰：梵音中含二義，一言忍辱、二言瞋恚。言此人有大力勢、能大瞋恚，忍受苦痛、剛強難伏，因以為姓也。
[Kumāra]jīva says: In Sanskrit this contains two meanings: one is 'forbearance' and the other is 'wrath'. It means that these people have great power and can show great wrath, yet endure suffering and hardship; being unyielding and difficult to subdue, it was taken as their lineage name.
