3.251
[Kumāra]jīva says: Although one who stays at home may practice good, they have the burdens of parents, wives, children, and kin; if someone comes to harm them, they inevitably retaliate. Therefore, staying at home is a cause and condition for afflicting others. When one goes forth, these manifold burdens are gone, and the causes of affliction naturally cease; hence it is said, 'causes no affliction to others.' [Seng]zhao says: The Way transcends worldly affairs and is in conflict with nothing; what affliction could there be?
