生曰：懼無答而置鉢，即復著言相矣。欲解此滯，使得取鉢，故先言取鉢勿懼也。
[Dao]sheng says: Fearing that he had no answer, he set down the bowl; that is again clinging to the mark of words. Wishing to untie this stagnation and allow him to take the bowl, he first said, 'Take your bowl and do not be afraid.'
