肇曰：魔以持世宴靜欲亂其心，若現本形恐不與言，故變為釋像。時持世不以通觀，故謂是帝釋也。生曰：彼事是帝釋也。持世據人言之，故可云爾也。

[Seng]zhao says: Māra saw Dharadhara in quiet rest and wished to disturb his mind; fearing that if he revealed his original form Dharadhara would not speak with him, he transformed into the likeness of Śakra. At that time, Dharadhara did not observe with supernormal powers, and thus thought it was Śakra. [Dao]sheng says: In terms of appearance, it was Śakra. Dharadhara spoke from the human perspective, and thus could say so.
