5.208
[Kumāra]jīva says: This refers to dharmas such as permanence, bliss, and purity seen by those of false views. The reason for saying 'non-existent' is not that there are joyous and pure dharmas and one eliminates them by means of non-existence; it is simply to eliminate the illness of false conceptions. There are no dharmas that can be eliminated; therefore, he can dwell in them without eliminating their dharmas. [Dao]sheng says: Subduing eliminates the existence about which they are confused, not the existence of dharmas.
