5.256

肇曰：自既離生，方便為物而受生者，則彼我無縛，所以為解也。生曰：欲濟群生而生者，為方便生也。以本不為己，故報無惑焉。

[Seng]zhao says: "Since he is already free from birth himself, taking birth through upāya for the sake of beings leaves neither the other nor oneself bound; this is why it is liberation." [Dao]sheng says: "Taking birth to deliver sentient beings is taking birth through upāya. Because it is fundamentally not for oneself, there is no confusion regarding retribution."
