5.312

[Kumāra]jīva says: The complete extinction of mind and consciousness is called aloof detachment; aloof detachment is precisely the meaning of emptiness. 'Not to rely' clarifies that regarding emptiness, one does not grasp at characteristics. [Seng]zhao says: Lesser detachment is detachment from bustling confusion; greater detachment is the extinction of body and mind. Although the bodhisattva takes pleasure in greater detachment, he does not rely upon it.
