5.32

什曰：將欲明宗，故現空相以發興也。盡敬致供必稱其所安，以文殊樂虛靜，故應之以空也。生曰：發斯念者，因以空室示有虛納之懷。有去故空，密在用標宗致也。現神力者，念之使也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Intending to make clear the fundamental principle, he manifested the mark of emptiness to give rise to it. To extend full respect and present offerings, one must suit what makes another comfortable; because Mañjuśrī delights in emptiness and stillness, he responded to him with emptiness. [Dao]sheng says: Giving rise to this thought was to use an empty room to demonstrate an attitude of open receptivity. Emptiness occurs because things are removed, secretly serving to signify the fundamental purport. Manifesting spiritual powers was the bidding of this thought.
