5.326

[Kumāra]jīva says: The six pāramitās are dharmas for one's own practice. Only after one's own practice is sufficient does one transform others, and only in transforming others does one know the minds of sentient beings. Now, although engaged in his own practice, he is already able to know others. Furthermore, the sixth pāramitā contemplates that dharmas are signless; not taking signlessness as an obstruction, he is also able to know the minds of sentient beings. [Seng]zhao says: The six pāramitās are signless practices. Being signless, there is no knowing, yet he proceeds to know completely the mental activities of sentient beings.
