5.338

什曰：精進，即四正勤也。不取，故言離也。肇曰：小乘法行四正勤，功就則捨入無為。菩薩雖同其行，而不同其捨也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Diligence refers to the four right exertions. Because one does not grasp, it is described as departing. [Seng]zhao says: In the Hinayāna teachings, when one practices the four right exertions and one's achievement is complete, one abandons them to enter the unconditioned. Although the bodhisattva shares in their practice, he does not share in their abandonment.
