什曰：若默然無言，以賓主不諧。讚言善來者，欲明賓來得會，主亦虛受也。
[Kumāra]jīva says: If he had remained silent without speaking, host and guest would not be in harmony. Praising him with the words 'Welcome' is intended to show that the guest's coming achieves an accord, and the host also receives him with openness.
