5.56

肇曰：使命既宣，故復問疾之所由生也。是病何因而起？起來久近？云何而得滅乎？生曰：作問實疾之迹，以求假病之意也。

[Seng]zhao says: His commission having been delivered, he therefore inquires further into the origin of the illness. From what cause did this illness arise? How long has it been since it arose? How can it be extinguished? [Dao]sheng says: He poses the question based on the manifest trace of actual illness in order to seek out the intention behind the provisional illness.
