6.160

什曰：欲依趣如來功德，要標心有在，故問其所住也。生曰：若直欲濟而入，或不必能濟。不必能濟，不成大果，故復問入當何住也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Wishing to rely on and proceed toward the Tathāgata's merits, one must resolve the mind on some basis; therefore he asks wherein he should abide. [Dao]sheng says: If one simply enters wishing to rescue them, one may not necessarily be able to do so. If one cannot necessarily rescue them, one will not achieve the great fruit; therefore he asks again where one should abide upon entering.
