7.132

什曰：水之為用，除垢去熱。解脫之性亦除執去閡也。生曰：八，以擬八方也。解脫者，除垢懷也。故有浴池義焉。

[Kumāra]jīva says: The function of water is to remove dirt and dispel heat. The nature of liberation also removes grasping and dispels obstructions. [Dao]sheng says: Eight corresponds to the eight directions. Liberation means washing away defilements; thus it has the sense of a bathing pool.
