什曰：淨戒除穢，不假香也。肇曰：淨心為澡浴之水，戒具為塗身之香。生曰：戒在形而外勳，為塗身香也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Pure morality eliminates foulness without relying on perfume.
[Seng]zhao says: The pure mind is the bathing water; the complete moral precepts are the perfume for anointing the body.
[Dao]sheng says: Morality is situated in the physical form and perfumes the outside, serving as body-anointing perfume.
