8.160

生曰：以其向念，故教食也。亦欲因以明食之為理，泥洹是甘露之法。而食此食者，必以得之，故飯中有甘露味焉。

[Dao]sheng says: Because of their earlier thought, he instructs them to eat. He also wishes thereby to clarify the principle of eating: nirvāṇa is the dharma of ambrosia, and those who eat this food will certainly attain it; hence within the food there is the flavor of ambrosia.
