什曰：外道法中有五大，佛法中有四大。此四種於作法中最大，故稱為大。
[Kumāra]jīva says: In non-Buddhist teachings there are five great elements; in the Buddha-Dharma there are four great elements. These four elements are the greatest among created dharmas, hence they are called 'great'.
