什曰：志求佛道，其心深固。譬如種樹，根深難拔。故歷劫愈明，不暫失也。肇曰：發心不忘，是眾行之中心者也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: The aspiration to seek the Buddha Way has a deeply firm mind. It is like planting a tree whose roots are deep and hard to uproot. Therefore, through successive kalpas it becomes ever brighter and is not lost even for an instant. [Seng]zhao says: Resolving without forgetting is the central mind of all practices.
